Gambia: Tourism Minister Indicators Regulation On Nationwide Endowment Fund for Arts and Tradition


The Minister of Tourism and Tradition, Hamat N.Ok. Bah, final Friday signed the Regulation on the Nationwide Endowment Fund for Artwork and Tradition for the primary time in The Gambia.

The signing got here on the heels of a report on a survey carried out on the situation of feminine artistes in The Gambia with a sequence of coaching which led to 1 hundred artistes being licensed on the Nationwide Centre for Arts and Tradition (NCAC).

The feminine artistes and cultural professionals underwent coaching in such facets as copyright, networking, and advertising and marketing of cultural items held in December 2022.

The NCAC on the United Nations Academic, Scientific and Cultural Group (UNESCO) Aschberg challenge titled: Bettering the Standing and Situation of Feminine Artistes, has been working with artistes since July 2022.

The challenge was throughout the framework of the 2021 Name for Tasks, which the NCAC submitted and which challenge was chosen by theEvaluation Committee in Might 2022.

In his remarks on the event, Minister Bah mentioned: “The regulation is a superb milestone within the annals of arts and tradition funding in The Gambia, and it exhibits the readiness of the Authorities to assist artistes for the sake of jobs, financial upliftment and the manufacturing of works to replicate Gambian values and norms.

The tourism minister identified that the Regulation, which has been signed, can be Gazetted, including that he would go to Cupboard and interact the Nationwide Meeting to get the funds wanted to assist and beef up the Fund.
